My sister-in-law created this awesome Totally Naked Man birthday cake! It was amazing!
The Siamese Cat was an TV created by Dale Pople in 2003. I’ve met Mr. Pople a few years ago at a photo shoot in California. He gave me permission to use the characters for issue #8 of Naked Man Comics.

Mr. Pople and his friend, Tony Armer, pitched The Siamese Cat on the Tonight Show in 2008. This is a copy of the video-
William Rail, of Crow, drew this. Thank you, Will!
The next Totes the Webcomic story is a homage to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird created one of the few indie comics that is as famous as Marvel and DC comics.
I found this image while going through my image archives.
One of my brothers found a few old drawings while cleaning my parent’s garage. There was an early version of Totally Naked Man Red and Blue. The villain was not The Yellow Skull but a techno nerd dude name Geoff. I don’t know what happened to the other pages.
I don’t remember when I did this. I want to say 1997ish?
This is another Kirby homage cover for Naked Man Comics #11. Since Universium is based on Marvel’s Galactus, I thought it would be appropriate to do this. This was really fun to illustrate.

I’m working on a new one-shot, Man-Man the Barbarian. The first page drops this Friday at https://man-man.mythosimprint.com/.
Readers of Totally Naked Man may remember Man-Man from Naked Man Comics #4 in 2012. In issue 4, Totally Naked Man and his friends were transported to the planet Fabulon, where they met Man-Man. The Yellow Skull, disguised as Turtle-tor, tried to conquer the planet.
Man-Man is a homage or parody of the character He-Man. People who know me know I’m a fan of the old Mattel action figure line and Filmation cartoon. The franchise has had a minor renaissance in recent years. Perhaps it is because old people like me have money to splurge on comics and toys. I’m celebrating my fondness for the property by drawing a parody comic.
I hope this story will get a laugh or two. I love fun lighthearted stories. I’m excited to put my own wacky twist on this old 80’s IP.
This was to be the cover for Mythos Imprint Magazine. The magazine was a project William Rail and I were working on. It would feature stories like Wynonna Whiskey. It would have interviews with local indie talent. For example, the interview I did with Jake Richmond.
Sadly, the project was scrapped because Will and I had a lot on our plates.
Here is the cover to the Android Cop story I’m working on. – Illya
Last Saturday, Jake Richmond and I attended the Grit City Comic Show. I purchased a table in 2020. The show shut down in 2020 because of the pandemic. The showrunners postpone all tables until 2021. In 2021, my son was born. Grit City was kind enough to allow me to table in 2022.
I was apprehensive. No one appreciates a Totally Naked hero. Go figure. Conventions are usually an enormous waste of money for me. And the vibe from the fans is always… deflating. However, this was not the case at Grit City. The people there wanted to read indie comics. It did help that the entrance fee was cheap and there were no major celebrities there. Why spend money on comics when you can pay 500 bucks for a picture of the cast of Firefly?
I had a lot of fun at Grit City. I want to try to go next year. It was fantastic. This event inspired me to get back to the drawing desk.

A.J. Roberts has been an awesome supporter of me and Naked Man Comics. Years ago, A.J. donated to my sister-in-law’s kidney fundraiser. For being a donor, I drew a hero character based on A.J. named “Call the Police from a Safe Distance Man.”
Recently he sent me a very kind postcard. As a thank you, I drew his hero persona with his son.
I found a few images on my hard drive that were for William Rail’s card game, Comic Wars. I saved them incase I ever get around to working on my Totally Naked Man card game.

My good friend, Jack Brinatte. designed a Totally Naked Man and Zetaman toy. Jack does a lot of modeling for toys and other items. He came up with these two images.
They are amazing, Thank you, Jack!
